Fire Safety Law has changed under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The order places a duty on the owner, or occupier of premises to have a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment carried out by a competent person. Organisations without a Fire Risk Assessment will be liable to prosecution under the order. The Fire Service will only offer advice, it is up to you to ensure that a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment is carried out.
