Fire Risk Assessments
Fire Safety Law has changed under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The order places a duty on the owner, or occupier of premises to have a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment carried out by a competent person. Organisations without a Fire Risk Assessment will be liable to prosecution under the order. The Fire Service will only offer advice, it is up to you to ensure that a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment is carried out.
A Fire Risk Assessment will help you indentify potential fire hazards, vulnerability of existing controls, and an action plan for implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate the consequences of fire that could otherwise go unnoticed.
